cipla and Qilu Pharmaceutical Partner to Advance Keytruda Biosimilar in the U.S.

Cipla Expands Its Oncology Portfolio Through Strategic Biosimilar Partnership

Cipla has entered into an exclusive partnership with Qilu Pharmaceutical to support the development and commercialization of QL2107, a proposed biosimilar to pembrolizumab (Keytruda), in the United States.

Under the agreement, Qilu Pharmaceutical will be responsible for the development, manufacturing and supply of QL2107, while Cipla USA will lead its commercialization in the U.S. market.

Pembrolizumab is an important immunotherapy used across several cancer indications. The development of biosimilars for established biologic medicines has the potential to expand treatment options and contribute to greater accessibility and affordability for patients.

The partnership represents a significant step for Cipla as it strengthens its capabilities in complex biologics and oncology, while also expanding its global pharmaceutical collaborations.

With biosimilars becoming an increasingly important part of the pharmaceutical landscape, collaborations such as this demonstrate the industry's continued focus on innovation, advanced biologic manufacturing and broader access to critical therapies.

For the global pharmaceutical sector, the agreement also highlights the growing importance of strategic partnerships between companies across different markets to accelerate the development and availability of complex medicines.
